What is Botox?

Botox, also called botulinum toxin, is the application of a toxin obtained from a type of bacteria called Clostridium botulinum to the area where wrinkles and lines are experienced, determined as a need on the skin. The purpose of Botox application; to reduce fine lines and wrinkles on the skin, to prevent their re-occurrence to a large extent, to reduce sweating in areas with excessive sweating, and to increase the patient’s quality of life by treating migraine headaches.
